You can borrow books and other physical items owned by other libraries, and also obtain PDF copies of articles by placing an Interlibrary Loan request for each item.

To do so, go to http://www.emporia.edu/library and click on the "Interlibrary Loan" icon/link.  Log in with your ESU user name and password.

If you have not done Interlibrary Loan before through our library, you will first see a screen to set up your personal record.  You only have to do this once.

Under "New Request", click on the appropriate link for your item:

  • Article
  • Book
  • Book Chapter
  • Conference Paper
  • Thesis/Dissertation
  • Media

Complete all the required fields for the request.

The PDF copies of articles will be sent to your e-mail address and are yours to keep.  You are responsible for returning the physical items by their due date to the Circulation Desk, 2nd floor.  If you are a distance education student, you are responsible for mailing the physical items back to the library.
